Answer:

GekoBox.com is a peer-to-peer Bitcoin exchange platform. We are a marketplace where users can buy and sell Bitcoins to and from each other. Users, called traders, create advertisements with the ability to set the price and the payment method they want to offer. 

Q? How do I buy or sell bitcoin on GekoBox?

Answer:

BUY BITCOIN ON GEKOBOX...

Buying bitcoin on GekoBox.com is easy. After you Register/Login, you can simply

i. browse through the market for available buy bitcoin offers and select whichever suits your need. The marketplace consists of different sellers who are users just like you, therefore the rates available on all sell offers is set by the sellers and not GekoBox.com

ii. create an advertisement to buy bitcoin by using the "Post trade ad" button.

Please note that you are required to click the I HAVE PAID button after actually paying the seller, else the bitcoin will be returned to the seller when the trade window period elapses. Always take note of the window period of a trade displayed at the bottom of the trade page.

Answer:

It is very safe and secure to buy and sell bitcoin on GekoBox.

GekoBox provides an escrow service, and as such, all trades on GekoBox passes through the escrow where either buyer or seller of bitcoin will have their bitcoin trapped in the escrow until both parties engaged in the trade is satisfied enough to conclude the trade OR if the client does not respond by clicking on the paid button, the bitcoin is automatically returned to the owner if window period set by the owner elapses.

In the case of a disagreement between traders, either party has the ability to dispute the trade by clicking on the dispute button, which automatically invites our administrators to get involved in resolving the dispute.

Q? Where do I keep my bitcoin?

Answer:

GekoBox provides all users with a secure wallet with which users can send, receive and store bitcoin. Your wallet is protected, however you are strongly advised to activate the 2FA (Two-Factor-Authentication) in your settings, and also to keep your login details in a safe place to avoid identity theft.

Q? How long does it take to send or receive bitcoin?

Answer:

The time taken to send or receive bitcoin varies. Transactions between GekoBox Wallets is instantaneous, but it may take some couple of minutes to send or receive to/from an external wallet.

Q? What's the minimum amount of bitcoin I'm allowed to buy?

Answer:

The minimum amount you can buy on GekoBox varies and is usually dependent on the seller. On the list of adverts displayed on the market, you will notice the set limits (ranging from minimum to maximum)  on each advert is shown

Can I buy less than 1 bitcoin?

Absolutely! One Bitcoin can be divided into much smaller pieces, the smallest piece is called one satoshi and is the same as 0.00000001 BTC.This enables you to buy less than one bitcoin, represented in decimals.

Q? How do I post a trade advertisement?

Answer:
The post trade ad function gives you the ability to create an advert as a trader, enabling GekoBox users can start a trade with you.
When you click on the POST TRADE AD button, it takes you to the post ad page where you will have to fill a form to set your offer ( which includes specifying your terms of trade). The bitcoin price set by a trader is a floating prices - this means your price moves acccording to the current market price of bitcoin.
When form is successfully submitted, your offer will be listed in the marketplace in the order of priority.

Q? How do I stop my Advertisement from running?

Answer:

In case you do not want to make a trade OR you will be offline, it is strongly recommended for you to stop your ad from displaying in the public market (in order to avoid bad rating from clients).
To stop your ad from displaying, navigate to your dashboard, enter the ADVERTISEMENT menu where all your created adverts are listed, then deactivate/delete any advert you want to stop from displaying.

Q? What payment method can I use to buy bitcoin?

Answer:

There are several payment methods available on GekoBox which you can use to buy bitcoin or receive payment for selling bitcoin. For easy access to the payment method you desire to transact in, you can use the search box located above the buy/sell offers.

Q? How am I protected in a trade?

Answer:

When you open a trade (buy/sell), the amount of the seller's bitcoin is automatically locked/reserved in the escrow until the trade is completed, cancelled or expired. In a case where the seller isn't responsive or tries run away with your money, and does not release your bitcoin GekoBox.com support can release the bitcoin to you from escrow. If you're selling Bitcoins, never release the escrow before you are very sure that you have received money from the Bitcoin buyer. 

Q? How/When to start a dispute?

Answer:

In an active trade the red dispute button on the trade page enables a user to start a dispute on that trade if a challenge is encountered during the trade process. To start a dispute, the user is required to write or explain what the challenge is before submitting the dispute.
When the trade is disputed, a notification is sent to GekoBox admin, which therefore allows the intervention of the administrator(s) to resolve the problem/challenge.

Q? What is GBC?

Answer:

GBC stands for GekoBox coin. It is issued to users as a reward for trading bitcoin on GekoBox. This gives our users the ability to earn without limit just for trading on GekoBox.com by posting an advertisement to either buy or sell bitcoin.

Q? How can I withdraw my GBC?

Answer:

Your GBC (GekoBox Coin) can be converted to bitcoin to enable you get the cash value. When you have accumulated your GBC to a certain value (atleast $1,000) you then have the ability to convert it to the bitcoin equivalent (at the time the request is processed). The GBC wallet in your dashboard gives you an access to GBC earned and withdrawn. And also the ability to withdraw GBC from your wallet.

Q? What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Answer:

Two-Factor Authentication (2-FA) is a system that adds an extra layer of protection to your account during login or access to some functions. If 2-FA is enabled, whenever a login to your account is attempted, a token/ login code is sent to your email. This token has to be applied to gain access to the account.
It is highly recommended for all our users to enable the 2-FA or Safe-login to their account. To enable 2-FA, visit the SETTINGS menu in your dashboard.

Q? What is a secret PIN?

Answer: A secret PIN is required when a user create a new account on GekoBox. The secret PIN adds an extra layer of security to users account. Your secret PIN is usually require to send bitcoins to another wallet address or release bitcoins in a trade.

Please Note: Do not share your secret PIN with anyone. Make sure you do not keep it where it can be accessed by anyone.

Q? How do I change my secret PIN?

Answer:

A users secret PIN is meant to be kept as secure as possible. Therefore, it cannot be changed from a users dashboard. To change the secret PIN of an account, the user will be required to send a message to GekoBox Support in order to initiate some verification processes. Account may be suspended until verification is completed.

Q? How do I change my email address?

Answer: A users email address is a users account identity and also hold a huge role in the protection of the users account. Therefore, it cannot be changed from a users dashboard. To change the email address of an account, the user will be required to send a message to GekoBox Support in order to initiate some verification processes. Account may be suspended until verification is completed.

Q? Why/How do I verify my Account?

Answer:

Account verification is required to enable a user establish a trade with a trader that requires verified client for the specific trade. This is done to ensure your client is KYC compliant.
The verification process is conducted via GekoBox procedures. To verify your account, visit the ACCOUNT VERIFICATION menu in your dashboard.

Q? How much is GekoBox fees/charges?

Answer:
Registering, Buying and Selling Bitcoin On GekoBox is completely free. However, user who create advertisement(s) are charged a 0.5% fee for every completed trade.
Transactions to other wallets is subject to network/service transaction charges.
